A Little Christmas Decorating

“The best laid plans of mice and men oft go awry”…..isn’t that the truth?
I am constantly beset by appointments and events it seems!
Christmas decorating and finishing up projects end up on the
back burner often.
Yesterday morning I needed to attend the
DARE graduation for my youngest
This is the third DARE ceremony I’ve attended
two for my kids and one for my grandson.
Luckily I get a break now since the next grandson is only 2 1/2
Next time, I’ll be using my walker
I rushed home and managed to do some decorating in the foyer.
Of course, this entailed climbing into the attic for the trees first.
Thank goodness the paper wreath was already there
and I just moved the silver tea service in from the dining room
I’ll add some greenery a bit later around the tea service…it’s a bit early for that.
Looks pretty all lit up!
I grabbed a few Christmas pillows from the attic while I was up there and threw those around too.
Then it was straightening up the house from the weekend
Yes, I know it was already Tuesday but Monday was consumed
with wreaths, post office, dinner and church activities
Finished cleaning, made chili for the kids and then it was
off to the Sports Banquet for the oldest
a l-o-o-ong event
But, it was nice to come in the house with some decorations
all lit up….gotta love those timers!
Couldn’t live without them!
Today it’s cookie baking day with my daughter
We’ll make cutout sugar cookies for all the kids to decorate on Saturday.

  1. Love your foyer for Christmas. It looks beautiful! And I want to thank you for giving me your opinion on my powder room. I liked your idea best of all so I think gray it will be. Doesn’t hurt that I’m crazy for french gray either *winks* Vanna/your newest follower

  2. Oh how I love the wreath! I just can’t get enough of them. I think if I could…I would have about 30 of them in my house 🙂

    Thanks for sharing!
