Preparing for Vacation

Remember, I told you I had something important to do on Friday?
That’s why I made the Goat Cheese tart on Thurs night.
Well my wonderful brother and sister-in-law came over on Friday to go through the house and get some advance instruction for the week we will be in Paris (!!!).
It was quite a lot to take in and my sister-in-law asked if I was going to write down the daily schedule so they could know what to do.
I said “sure”.
I sat down to write it up and thought I’d share it with you too.

Daily Schedule

5:30                           the 15 and 16yr old girls are up already and don’t come downstairs until just before the have to leave. They may or may not eat breakfast

3:23                           ask the 10 yr old how he knows he has no homework if he didn’t write anything in his planner

3:24                           remind the 10yr old that the rule is he writes “No HW” if there is no homework and if you find out there really was homework that he will have consequences when Mom gets home

3:25                            tell the 10yr old that you  are glad he remembered he DID have homework and that he needs to do his homework before he goes out to play

9:10                           ask the 10 yr old and 14 yr old if they remembered to brush their teeth

9:11                           tell the 10 yr old to go brush his teeth, don’t let the 14 yr old go with him

10:10                         tell the 14yr old to go back upstairs and that you know the 17yr old’s  light is bothering him and that he can cover his head with a pillow and try to go to sleep anyway

11:00                         if you make it that long and you go upstairs and the 17yr old still has his light on, suggest he might want to go to sleep now

During the evening if you hear screaming coming from

the girl’s room, just try and ignore it. You don’t want to

get involved. Unless the oldest shows up and wants to

know “what is the rule for turning out the light?”.. just

stay out of it.
If she does show up, just say “9:30”and she

will leave triumphantly. Your work is done there.

Do the same thing for five days.

Now the real fun begins….they are home for the

weekend.

They like to sleep late…don’t wake them if you know what’s

good for you.

Don’t worry….we’ll be home Monday……maybe……

We have complete faith in you
